Over the past month, many Floridians have been confused about the recent changes to Florida Eviction Moratorium until now. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has allowed the moratorium to expire which should reduce any state-wide confusion over whether the CDC’s evictions order.
So, if you are a renter, make sure you understand your rights that can protect you under the CDC moratorium. You as a renter must complete a declaration form which must include a write letter, under penalty of perjury, that you have made every possible attempt to pay at least part of their rent. Protection under the CDC’s moratorium is not automatic, and legal interpretations of the order have varied across different jurisdictions. You as a renter who wishes to seek protection under the order must fill out a declaration form and submit it to their landlord.
