Evictions have been nearly impossible since the pandemic. Since the courts are closed, landlords have taken it upon themselves to evict on their own. They have started to change the locks on the apartments, boarding up houses, or placing the belongings on tenants on the curbside for the trash to pick up. This is truly unfair and quite illegal.
For landlords, we know that this is an exceedingly difficult time because most tenants have been laid off due to the pandemic. It is suggested that both parties come to an agreement and sign a contract. This will eliminate any confusion if further steps need to be taken.
