Renting a home month to month can be very beneficial when you don’t want to be bound by a
long-term leasing agreement or when in the process of looking for a new home. Many renters
believe they hold the same renter’s rights as a 12-month lease. What does Florida law say?
According to Fla. Stat. § 83.57(4), the landlord only must provide the tenant with 15 days of
notice for termination of the month to month lease. This 15-day time-period also applies when
the tenant is initiating the termination of the month to month lease
