City Of Orlando Is Providing Assistance For Landlords & Tenants

As you already know, Florida’s eviction and foreclosure moratorium has been extended to October 1, 2020. There are many concerns about homelessness. So recently, Orlando City Commissioner, Bakari Burns hosted a virtual forum on evictions. The City of Orlando has established an Eviction Diversion Program is only for renters and their landlords that are facing foreclosure.

“The program provides up to $4,000 in arrears and then the landlord agrees to wave the additional, have to be two months in arrears,” Mayor Jerry Demings Chief of Staff Roseann Harrington said. The objective for the program is to basically try to facilitate mediation between them and the bank. It gives them an opportunity to come to a resolution outside of court, to save their house or come to work out arrangement says Jenny Brown, the executive director with the Orange County Bar.
